Horsham Amphibians Triathlon

About Us

Find Out More

If you are interested in joining HAT one of the best ways to find out if we are the club for you is to come and join us at one of our Saturday morning swimming sessions, which is a completely free introductory session. The Saturday swims are held at Christ’s Hospital Blue Coats 25m pool from 7.45 – 8.45am. We all get together afterwards in the cafe upstairs and you are welcome to join us for the swimming and breakfast to find out more about the club.

We welcome novices to triathlon as well as more experienced triathlete. This does not mean complete novices to swimming or cycling (to a lesser extent, running). You generally must be able to swim and ride a bike before considering joining a club!

Membership runs from 1 December to the end of November each year. For the year coming up it is £40. New Membership applications can be made via the link below. Once you are a member you can log into our membership section on our Facebook page (restricted to Club Members).

Training Events

The Club organises regular training sessions which includes the expected swim, bike and run training (see our ‘Events’ calendar) but may also include bike maintenance, bike fitting and planning of running/cycling schedules. We also encourage members to take part in a nominated series of mixed events as part of a Grand Prix. Participants accumulate points for prizes which are awarded at our Christmas Dinner. Our monthly Club Handicap events (held throughout main race season) are also a great and fun way to test your level of fitness under race conditions.

Age Range

Members range from 17 to 85. We have no upper age limit for new members. Unfortunately we do not currently have the pool time or the coaches qualified to train juniors (under 17 years old) although we certainly plan to in the future as the club expands.

Committee

We are fortunate to have a wealth of experience in the Club with a large number of the members being involved in the sport of triathlon for many years. Some of our members have also gone on to attain Level 1-3 triathlon coaching qualifications.

Our committee, which is elected each year at the  Club’s Annual General Meeting, is listed below. Their contact details are listed alongside.  Please do not hesitate to approach any member of the committee if you need any further information on the club or triathlon in general. New membership enquiries are best directed to Gareth as an initial contact point:
