How to apply for HAT Facebook (Closed Group) access

Hi Guys – this post is especially for our Chairman…

1. First set up an account with Facebook – I found this basic step-by-step guide useful: http://www.wikihow.com/Set-up-a-Facebook-Account

2. In the Search Bar at the top left-hand side please enter ‘Horsham Amphibians Triathlon’ – to add a bit of confusion we have 2 entries – an old legacy Horsham Amphibians Triathlon Page and a newer ‘Closed Group’. Select the Closed Group option. Alternatively you can click here

3. Under the Group picture that appears you will see the option to ‘ + Join Group’ below (highlighted in Green). This fires an e-mail to one of the administrators to permit access, allowing us to control who can view and post to the Club’s Facebook Group Page. We do not want lots of spam content so try to restrict access to ‘Friends and Club Members’ only

4. Once your application has been approved you can view all the posts and add your own content / news. Simply click on Write Post or Add Photo/Video to get going. Your post will then be available for all the other Club members to see and it will come up on their ‘News Feed’

5. Please make full use of Facebook as it has now replaced our old message board – let us know what you are up to (within reason), what kit you have bought, race events you have entered, results, etc. etc. All the ‘highs and lows’ of this great sport

Hope that helps – any basic questions please contact me on dbpegler@gmail.com or via Facebook and I will try to help out (although not really an IT expert – can help with your finances, pension, investment!)

Joined Horsham Amphibians in 2009. I'm a novice triathlete that completed my first full Ironman event in July 2012 - IM Austria. Now responsible for the overall communication to Club members. My first blog (Journey to Ironman Austria) followed my journey to become an ironman finisher - the training, the time commitment, the support and coaching, the events in between - all the 'highs and lows!'. The subsequent blog (Tri Hard Training) continues with my training and love for the sport.
